Three years in and many more to come...


Well… it only took us three years.


After countless events, hundreds of grazing tables, more chafing dish burns than we’d care to admit, and the occasional 2am clean-down, we’re finally starting the blog we always said we would. It’s a place to reflect, share, laugh, and keep track of everything we’re building — and more importantly, somewhere to finally start posting those elusive “weekly updates” we always forget to put on Instagram.


For those who don’t know us, we’re Mike and Heather — founders, partners, and the heart (and hands) behind Burnt Orange Catering. We’re an independent catering company based in Liverpool, specialising in bold, flavour-first food for events, offices, and private gatherings of all shapes and sizes. From vibrant grazing spreads to themed corporate menus and fully bespoke catering experiences, everything we create is designed to bring people together around food that actually tastes like something.

Over the last few years, we’ve gone from local pop-ups and street food gigs to the Philharmonic Orchestra at the M&S Bank Arena, dropping into offices at Royal Liver Building, and feeding A-List celebrities like James McEvoy, Liv Tyler and many many more! (Check out our client page for a more extensive list) Our client list has grown alongside our little team — still tight-knit, still scrappy, still pushing every week to do more with less. We don’t have a marketing department (just a shared Notes app and too many half-finished captions), but we do have passion, grit, and a group of genuinely brilliant people who care deeply about the work we do.
